FREE PARENTING WORKSHOP

Navigating Substance Experimentation in Teens (NSET)

A free, two-hour workshop offering information and support for parents or caregivers whose teen is experimenting with alcohol, marijuana, vaping and other substances. 

  • Interactive, judgement-free and practical

  • Led by professionals in teen substance use prevention 

  • Held the first Wednesday of each month from 6-8 pm at Jefferson County Public Health (645 Parfet Street, Lakewood)

​​Workshops are for parents, guardians or

primary caregivers of adolescents:

  • A workbook will be provided to each registered participant

  • Youth should not attend the workshop

  • Free dinner will be provided to attendees

  • There is no cost to participants, because the program is 100% grant-funded

  • Information about marijuana, alcohol, vaping & other drugs

  • Information about strategies to help keep your teen safe

  • Communication and staying connected

  • When and how to seek treatment

A workshop for parents & caregivers is held the first Wednesday of each month:

  • Demos are held quarterly
